BRING ME A MINSTREL
Filed under: Holy Ghost Encounters; No Commentsby Anthony N. Wade
2 Kings 3:14-15 (NKJV)
{14} And Elisha said… {15} “But now bring me a musician.” Then it happened, when the musician played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him. (Elisha)
There was a period of time when I was very drawn to the eastern seaboard of the United States. One of the most enjoyable meetings for me personally, and ministerially was in New Bern, NC. The Pastor of this church was most accommodating to the type of ministry that the Lord has blessed me with. The meetings were scheduled for several days. What was so astonishing to me was the sensitivity of the 'Man of God' at the helm of this congregation. I had been to this church before, but this time was extremely different.
The Pastor, being aware of my ministry in song did not schedule the churches praise and worship team. Instead, he opened the service up with a word of prayer, and turned it over to me. His attitude was that there was an anointing upon me in the realm of music, with my singing. He trusted me to set the atmosphere, with the ministry of 'The Psalmist.' I very gladly walked into this, not knowing what was about to happen. The first meeting or so was the norm. Nevertheless, 'The Holy Ghost' manifested Himself after a couple of meetings. The hand of the Lord came upon me and I began to call people out, and give them 'Words of Knowledge' and 'Prophetic Utterances.'
The anointing was so strong. It was as if you could cut a portion of it out with a knife. In a service like that you are very tender — sensitive to 'The Holy Ghost.' You don't want to do anything that would keep Him from moving among the people. The only way I know how to explain it is that you feel like you are walking on egg shells. Up to this point in my ministry, I had never been in a service where I went from person to person with a specific word for them. Why? A great deal of it has to do how well people receive you (Matthew 10:41-42).
There were numerous people ministered to during these encounters. However, there was one that really stuck out to me. There was a man who I felt very drawn to one night during this gathering. I had a very strong word for him — a word of encouragement— a word of victory, but something was different. 'The Holy Ghost' would not let me speak anymore over this man's life. I knew that I was to stop. 'The Holy Ghost' would not let me go any further. I told this man so, in front of everyone in the meeting that night. I found out later that this man was dealing with homosexual issues, and he was in counseling with the Pastor. Had I not been obedient to 'The Holy Ghost,' I would have created disorder for this man and his Pastor. AWM

HOT FLASHES
Filed under: Healing, Holy Ghost Encounters; No Commentsby Anthony N. Wade
It was a Wednesday evening service at a church in Nelsonville, OH. I was in my normal mode of operation as a guest speaker. I was introduced by the pastor and sang a couple of songs to prepare the congregation for the ministry of the Word of God. Suddenly, during the teaching of the Word, I was interrupted by the Holy Ghost with Words of Knowledge (1 Corinthians 12:4-11).
For me, the Word of Knowledge works by hearing “The Holy Ghost” whisper something to me. It comes as a suggestion, thought, or idea. It also comes to me as an “Inward Intuition.” The inward intuition is an inward knowing of a need, or needs in the congregation. The Word of Knowledge also comes to me by physically feeling specific symptoms of the members in the congregation.
During this meeting, there were two outstanding words that came to me. The first one was concerning couples having difficulty in their marriage. I called it out and asked the couples to stand. One couple stood and I was directed by “The Holy Spirit” to pray for them with the “Laying on of Hands” (Hebrews 6:1-2). As I prayed, there was a release in them and me as well. I knew on the inside of me that God had met their need.
The next thing that I encountered has never happened to me again since this particular meeting. I sensed a “hot flash.” This feeling stayed with me for a while, so I called it out. Sure enough there were several women who had been experiencing “hot flashes.” I had the women stand, and then come to the front to be prayed for. As they came forward I explained what I was experiencing. During my explanation one of the ladies interrupted me by exclaiming, “you probably felt it.” I let her know she was correct. Afterwards, I prayed for them with the laying on of hands. There was a transference of power released from my hands into their bodies. As far as I was concerned they all received what they were looking for from God. AWM

The Comfort of The Holy Ghost
Filed under: Holy Ghost Encounters; No Commentsby Anthony N. Wade
Most of us have heard the old saying “out of sight, out of mind.” At one time or another we have made the statement, “I’ll believe it, when I see it.”
When it comes to trusting God neither one of those assertions are pleasing to Him. Why? Because the Mind of God is given to us by His Word. As believers’ we should have the point of view that if God said it, that settles it —and I believe it.
We must remember that when it comes to the things of God we can’t base our life with Him by the five physical senses(2 Corinthians 5:7).
Now, I am not so obtuse to think that God does not at times meet us in the realm of sight or sometimes feelings, but sight and feelings should not be the motivating factor for the believer.
Jesus gave us encouraging scriptures that we must consider when it comes to our approach to God.
John 14:16-18 KJV
{16} And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever;
{17} Even the Spirit of Truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him; for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
{18} I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
The first thing we must reflect on is the fact that Jesus said that He would pray to The Father to give us another Comforter.
The Holy Ghost Comforter is not just given to us, but He will abide with us forever. Forever is a long time. This is what I mean: From the time you gave your life to The Lord Jesus Christ, God The Holy Ghost has been working in your life. He has not only been working — He will never leave you. He will abide with you from now until eternity rolls and beyond.
The Holy Ghost is our Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby. Jesus said He — The Holy Ghost — would be those attributes for us forever. Our job is to acknowledge Him.

I Wasn't There!
Filed under: Holy Ghost Encounters; No Commentsby Anthony N. Wade
During a time of leading worship at a local church, I experienced one of the most amazing phenomenas of my life. First I must back up. I served as an associate pastor/worship leader at a church in central Ohio. This assignment came as a result of being a guest minister at the church. The local assembly had been challenged by it's leadership to make some changes. I was one of those changes. My duties, as an associate pastor, included counseling, and helping others, as was delegated to me by the pastor. One of the delegations was leading the worship during the church services. The team of worshipers would rehearse on Thursday nights and again on Sunday mornings. The Sunday morning rehearsals were necessary in the event of last minute changes.
What happened to me was something I never expected. The team was taking it's place on the platform. The piano player began playing music as we took our place. As the piano player played a certain chord progression, I was supposed to begin leading the first song. However, I was not there! Yes, I know that naturally I was there, but I am speaking spiritually. This is what I mean. I was suspended in place. I could not move. I was in a trance, with all my physical attributes intact. (Numbers 24:16; Acts 10:10)
I was frozen in place so to speak. One might ask, “If I wasn't there, where was I?” Well, In the Tabernacle of Moses there were three compartments. There was “The Outer Court”, “The Holy Place”, and “The Holy of Holies”, also known as “The Most Holy Place.” I was in The Heavenly “Holy of Holies” at the outset of this worship experience. I was very much aware of what was going on around me, but I wasn't there! (See Exodus 26 and 27.) There were team members calling my name, wondering why I had not started to sing. The best way I can explain what I experienced, can be found in the Bible with the Apostle Paul's experience.
2 Corinthians 12:1-7 (KJV)
{1} It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.
{2} I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.
{3} And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)
{4} How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
{5} Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities.
{6} For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me.
I have not had another experience like this ever again. Of course I am willing and ready, but these things are as the Spirit wills (1 Corinthians 12:6,11).

Sister R.S.
Filed under: Holy Ghost Encounters; No Commentsby Anthony N. Wade
It was during a period of time when I was pastoring. If my memory serves me correctly a group of us where having a community service being held in our home town. I was the keynote speaker of this meeting. After my message I had a prayer line. I made a call for those who wanted to be “Born-again,” filled with “The Holy Ghost,” and “Healing.” Sister R.S. came up for healing. During my time of praying for her, I received a “Word of Knowledge” and a “Word of Wisdom.”
1 Corinthians 12:8
{8} For to one is given by the Spirit, The Word of Wisdom; to another, The Word of Knowledge by the same Spirit.
As I ministered to our sister I spoke of an experience she would have. I also shared with her that she would have victory during this time, and what she should do to insure that victory. A few days past after the meeting and we received news that Sister R.S.’s husband tried to commit suicide. He shot himself in the chest with a 22 caliber pistol. What was so amazing about this was the circumstances around this story. Sister R.S.’s husband had a pacemaker put in his chest some time previous to the meeting. The pacemaker kept the bullet from penetrating his heart and his life was spared. It was “The Word of Knowledge and “The Word of Wisdom,” that sustained Sister R.S. How? Because she had news before it happen.
