The Greek word for helper is “Paraclete.” This word is one of the the descriptive words of Holy Spirit. Among other things Holy Spirit has come to earth to help us. Before Holy Spirit came to this earth there was a man who asked Jesus to help him. The story I am referring to can be found in Mark 9:14-29. The man’s son had an evil spirit tormenting him. We will pick up at verse twenty-one.

Mark 9:21-24 (NKJV)

{21} So He (Jesus) asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?”And he said, “From childhood. {22} And often he has thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” {23} Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” {24} Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

The man asked Jesus to help him, in his attitude of the potential of doubt and unbelief. You and I have the same ability and privileged to ask The Lord Jesus Christ to help us. Once we’ve asked Him to help us, we must believe that He is, will and has. When we ask we must believe that we receive (Mark 11:24). If we have surrendered our lives to The Lord Jesus Christ we have a privilege to have “The Paraclete” manifest Himself in our lives. Why? Because we have a better covenant than the man in Mark 9. How do I know? Hebrews eight tells us so.

Hebrews 8:6-10 (NKJV)

{6} But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises. {7} For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second. {8} Because finding fault with them, He says: “Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah — {9} not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the LORD. {10} For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

In the book of Mark Jesus had not gone to the Cross. After He rose from the dead He dispatched Holy Spirit to take His place. We have at our disposal all “The Paraclete” has to offer. (See John 14:15-27). AWM

A number of years ago, I was driving to do a series of meetings. During my drive “The Holy Spirit” was conversing with me about a relationship I was having some difficulty with. While conversing with me about the relationship, He told me to apologize to the person that we were discussing. I immediately shouted at Him, “I’M NOT GOING TO DO THAT”! He was endeavoring to get me to take the initiative in a relationship gone awry. All I could do was think about how I had not done anything wrong for the relationship to be where it was. Holy Spirit was trying to get me to be the bigger person.

HE WAS GRIEVED
For the next few miles down the road I knew something was wrong. It was as if He was no longer with me — as if I was riding down the road all by myself, on my own. After a number of miles of riding down the road, on my own – all by myself, so it seemed, I began appealing to Him to come back in the vehicle with me. He was there, but chose to be silent and not make ‘His Presence’ known. I told Him that I would do what He asked me to do. After some time went by He began to speak to me again. It was a dreaded feeling, thinking I had grieved Him to the point that He would never talk to and with me again. I did do what He asked me to do, and everything worked out fine. -AWM

It was the State of Florida. I was once again doing a series of meetings. My normal mode of ministry is to sing two or three songs to set the atmosphere for the ‘Ministry of the Word.’ The Word of God is peppered with ‘Words of Knowledge,’ ‘Personal Prophesy;’ as well as ‘Demonstrations of The Holy Ghost’
(Hebrews 2:4).

As I was teaching ‘The Word,’ I could tell that the atmosphere was charged with an ‘Outstanding Presence.’ During the teaching the congregation was really with me. They were very expectant of a move of God. As I continued teaching, it was as if I was in a cubical. The only way I can explain it is this cubelike form was full of ‘God’s Glory’ — ‘His Presence.’ It sure made my job easy that evening, as I just followed the leading of ‘The Holy Ghost.’ While sharing the message I was very sensitive to ‘Holy Spirit.’ I didn’t want to do anything that would grieve Him, and cause Him to depart (Ephesians 4:30).

As previously stated, I was in a cubical of ‘God’s Glory.’ Sometime during the midst of this, I felt someone touch my right hip. There was no one physically close to me so I knew it was ‘Holy Spirit’ speaking to me. After I felt someone touch my right hip, I responded with a ‘Word of Knowledge’ (1 Corinthians 12:8) .

I knew that someone in the congregation was having trouble with their right hip. So I called it out to the congregation. I simply asked, “Is there anyone here having trouble with your right hip”? Sure enough, there was a woman sitting in the congregation to my right with a hindrance in her right hip. I had a woman lay hands on her, in her hip area, as I prayed (Mark 16:18; Hebrews 6:2). The woman felt the ‘Power of God’ go into her hip and was immediately healed. Many other things happened during this series of meetings, but nothing as phenomenal as what I am about to tell you.

A man came up to me at the close of the service, and asked to talk with me. I granted him the freedom to speak to me. He at once began telling me that he saw my angel. He said the angel would bend over and whisper something in my ear, and then I would speak it out. He went on to tell me that my angel was huge in stature. He was not a little fellow, but he stood several feet tall. This is my explanation, to why I had the feeling in my right hip. My angel tapped me in my right hip, and I just called it out.

There are over 250 references in the Bible to the ministry of angels. No, they are not little fat babies with wings as some artists have portrayed. They have a valid ministry to you and me, if only we would believe (Hebrews 1:14 NIV).

The year was 1973. I was searching for meaning in life and desperately wanted change, but didn’t know how. To my surprise things began to occur for me in a class in High School. This was my senior year. I did not want to approach my future not knowing my destiny in life or Who He was. When Christ enters your existence, He brings people around you to introduce Himself to you.

It was in my speech class. He chose VR, and DDC to acquaint me with Him. These two individuals were committed to Christ, and they showed it in their character and conduct. It was evident in the speeches they presented to the class. They would often testify to the pupils about their life in Him. Although I did not show it, they were feeding me exactly what I was searching for. I wanted something that had substance to it. VR, and DDC showed substance in their lifestyles. I was so hungry for change. I was raised in a denomination that didn’t challenge where you were, or how you lived. The best way to put it is they had a form of godliness, but denied the power (2Timothy 3:5). To tell you the truth, I was headed for eternal damnation.

In August of that year I was invited to a local church for a Sunday evening service. Little did I know that this was the church that VR attended. It seemed like a coincidence that I happened to go to this assembly. I was hooked from the very first experience; it was the place for me. From August until December of that year I was being drawn by ‘Holy Spirit’ I never will forget the day. After the message I knew I was supposed to respond. I know this wasn’t the case, but that morning it was as if I floated down the aisle to receive The Lord Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. That was December 9th 1973. I grew by leaps and bounds, and was so hungry for Spiritual Truth. One year later I was introduced to the’ Baptism of the Holy Spirit’ with the evidence of speaking with other ‘tongues.’ What an experience it is having the ability to pray
in a language that I was never taught to speak. It was my opportunity to connect with Him in a ‘Supernatural Way.’ Praying in other ‘tongues’ is the hot line to Heaven.

After six years at this church I was instructed by ‘Holy Spirit,’ to go to K.H.’s Bible School. I had been listening to his fifteen minute radio broadcast, and studying some of his printed material. I didn’t know if Mr. H. had a Bible School, so I made some serious inquiries. Sure enough, Mr. H. had a Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, OK., a suburb of Tulsa.

In August 1979, I quit my job, packed up my material possessions; my wife, and children and headed to Oklahoma. In May of 1981, I graduated from Minister H.’s Bible School. It has been an adventure of faith from then until now, following ‘Holy Spirit.’ -AWM
