There is a lot mentioned today about people who steal others identity. For those who are not enlightened, what these thieves do is get your social security number, credit card or other information and make it appear that they are you. Well, there is a master thief, his name is satan a.k.a. Lucifer (Isaiah 14:12). His first victims were Adam and Eve. He duped them — beguiled Eve, into giving up their heritage — their identity. Because Adam was so attached to Eve he willingly handed his personal identity over to satan (1 Timothy 2:14). Had lucifer not so cunningly seduced Eve he would not have been so successful. Again, she was duped. In the book of John it describes lucifer’s mo.— motice operandi.

John 10:1,10 (NKJV)

{1} “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. {10} The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy …. He is a master thief, and his target is anyone that he possibly can deceive.

1 Peter 5:8-9 (NASU)

{8} Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. {9} But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world.

Why is humanity, and particularly the believer such a target. Well,

1. We have the authority, that he wanted for a long time.
2. We have been made in the Image and Likeness of God.
3. Lucifer tried to exalt his thrown above heaven, but he was kicked out. (Luke 10:18; Ezekiel 28:12-19).
4. Those who have given their lives to our Lord and Savior, The Lord Jesus Christ, have been saved. This is one thing that satan can’t claim. Bottom line he is jealous of those who believe on The Lord Jesus Christ.

In closing don’t let him steal your identity. You must know who you are, what you have, and what you can do in Christ.
