FOR SHE SAID…
Filed under: Victorious Living; No Commentsby Anthony N. Wade
In my opinion one of the most outstanding stories in the New Testament is the story about the woman that had an issue of blood. It is documented that it was what that woman said that made the difference. It is proof positive that what we do with our mouth has a lot to do with what God can do with our whole life.
The thing that is tremendous to me is that if God did it for that lady, He will do it for anyone else. A number of years ago it was brought to my attention that if we would do what the people in the Bible did we would receive similar results as they . How do I know this? Because God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34). Although He is not a respecter of persons, He is a respecter of faith. I addition we have a better Covenant established upon better promises (Hebrews 8:6). The day we are living in is better than those of the Bible days.
This is what I mean: It is recorded on different occasions what various Bible characters said with their mouths was an indication of their faith.
Speaking the desired results was their ability to turn their faith loose. When they turned their faith loose, it was just a matter of time, when what they said became a part of their world. Take a glance at the woman that had the issue in (Mark 5:25-30). Several verses are the key to why she received.
We also get a clue to the commitment of Blind Bartimaeus in (Mark 10:52). It's as if I am there and can hear him cry out “Jesus Thou Son of David, Have Mercy On Me.” Then in Luke 17 we have the account of the ten lepers. And of course in Matthew 8 the confrontation with the centurion. Each one of these characters desired something, and their mouth was the medium which brought it into existence. A better way to say it is their mouth “turned their faith loose.” In Proverbs 18:21, we are told that death and life are in the power of the tongue.
The purpose of this entry is to encourage us all to put a watch over our tongue and lips. It has been said that if we don't like what is happening in our lives, the first thing we need to take inventory over is our mouth.
